Dear Agnes Scott College Community,
Good afternoon from the President’s COVID-19 Task force. We are reaching out with updates and information.
Tracking COVID Trends
We continue to monitor facts and data from the CDC and other public health entities. As of today, our community has experienced one new student positive test this week. None of the faculty and staff have tested positive this week.
In terms of regional COVID levels, DeKalb County has returned to “low” status. This means that overall positivity rates have remained low, based on the county’s total population. As of today, masks are not required by the city of Decatur. The CDC has recommended masks on public transportation. We remain “mask optional” here on campus, and encourage you to follow this and our other health and safety protocols.
We will continue to follow trends and campus positivity rates, particularly with the BA.2 subvariant, and will adjust protocols as warranted. We appreciate that we all are fatigued from the pandemic but it is imperative that you follow campus rules and continue your testing. This will enable us to have good information to continue our permissive guest policy and exciting spring events.
Testing
We are working with the Curative team to resolve recent registration challenges. Curative has not yet provided us with a reason that some community members are receiving an error message when attempting to book an appointment. Please use these links to book your appointment.
Standard PCR Site: https://book.curative.com/sites/32424
Rapid PCR Site: https://book.curative.com/sites/34423 (You may be required to re-enter your insurance information if you are seeking a rapid test. Your insurance company may decline coverage or treat the claim differently but Curative will not bill you.)
You also may utilize “walk up” testing or pre-register.
Regardless of how you test, please continue to do so regularly and upload your results (students to Medicat; faculty and staff to Paycor).
Events
We are excited about the many upcoming spring events and those scheduled as part of commencement weekend. As a reminder, guests are welcome on our campus if fully vaccinated and boostered.
For commencement, Individuals who do not meet these criteria – because they are exempted or partially vaccinated – will need to test immediately prior to arrival on campus (within 72 hours) and wear a mask while here at all times. All campus community members and guests attending the Senior Showcase as part of this year’s Baccalaureate, will be required to wear masks while in Gaines Chapel. We continue to have supplies of the recommended KN95 masks for students if you require them.
We remain committed to keeping you informed. Please continue to reach out to us at cvtaskforce@agnesscott.edu; and look for updates on the website: https://www.agnesscott.edu/engaging-the-challenge-together/index.html. Thanks for your continued cooperation.
