Class of 1993
Woodstock

Greetings, Scottie Sisters!

Our 30th reunion is just around the corner! We hope you received the save-the-date mailer and e-blast from Agnes Scott. Please be sure to highlight the weekend of May 19-21, 2023 in Woodstock yellow!

Your class officers are working diligently to make it a memorable and enjoyable weekend with gatherings both large and small. Additional details are yet to come, but please take a minute to note the following:

ASC’s Reunion Webpage: Visit https://agnesscottalumnaeweekend.com/ to register beginning on March 10th and visit our class-specific webpage. We encourage you to stay in the dorms, so we can have more time to reconnect (information forthcoming).

Class of 1993 Photobook: Share the best (and most hilarious!) photographs of your time at Agnes Scott here: https://www.newlywords.com/class-of-93-30th-reunion.

Gatherings:

Friday, May 19th: Beginning at 6:30 pm, reconnect with your sisters at the “Scottie Shindig- Welcome Party (1970s, 1980s, 1990s),” an Agnes Scott-hosted party, in the Dana Fine Arts Building. End the night at the All-Alumnae Dance Party and Hub Sing (Hub Sing is from 8:30 pm – 9:00 pm).

Saturday, May 20th:
Class Meeting: Grab your coffee, hot tea, Diet Coke, or sparkling water, and join us for our class meeting at 9:00 am. A special celebration will be held after our meeting, so please plan to stay until we go to the Convocation as a class at 10:30 am. Location details are forthcoming.

30th Reunion Party: Our event will begin around 6:30 pm in the lovely garden adjacent to the Anna I. Young Alumnae House. It will be a fun garden party with a taco bar! (Vegetarian options available, as well as beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. More details soon.)

Officer Nominations:
Reunion weekend is also a time to pass the leadership baton. The more work we do pre-reunion, the more time for fun, conversations, and activities that weekend. In that spirit, nominations for class officers are being accepted now. The officers to be nominated are President, Vice President, Secretary, Reunion Chair, and Fund Chair. Agnes Scott does a good job supporting officers, so please consider running. Position descriptions can be found on our class Facebook page or by texting our Nominations Chair Tonya Grieco. Please forward nominations to Tonya Grieco.

Annual Fund:
If you haven’t noticed the significant developments at Agnes Scott College since 1993, now is a fantastic time to look. Evidence of why our alma mater is consistently one of the top colleges in the nation is abundant! During our reunion year, please give generously to make sure that other young women can benefit from the Scottie experience. Give online by visiting: https://give.agnesscott.edu.

We are looking forward to reconnecting with you and celebrating the Class of 1993!

Peace, Love, and Peanuts!

President’s Letter

Hello classmates,

A funny thing happened on the most recent reunion planning call. The planning committee started reminiscing about our time as students. “Remember the bunnies? OMG I hated them!” “Wait, bunnies? What bunnies?” “You know, the BUNNIES. That were part of the metal fish sculpture!” “There was a metal fish sculpture? Oh, wait! I just barely remember that!”

It was both an important and hilarious moment that drove home how we all remember our experience at Agnes Scott differently. We have different stories, different highlights, different memories that are all valid and all worth coming together to share. And I really hope we do that: come together again and share both our memories of our time at Agnes Scott and reconnect to make new memories with each other.

Reunion weekend runs from May 19 through May 21, and you’ll be getting plenty more updates from the college to make sure you remember to register. If you happen to know someone who is on the fence about coming, please encourage them to do so. I miss them, others miss them, and this reunion only happens every five years. Come be a part of it!

Now, of course, this wouldn’t be a class letter if I didn’t remind everyone that the college lives and breathes in no small part by the donations alumni make. We already have one classmate donating to cover the entire cost of food for our class dinner. Additional donations to the college help the students of today and tomorrow make the same memories we’re coming together to celebrate in May.

And with that, I want to give a shout out to Angie Tacker and Staci Catron, our Reunion Chairs, for all the hard work they’re putting into organizing the type of reunion we want based on your feedback. Many thanks also to our Fund Chair, Helen Nash, and Sarah Fisher and Elena Adan Esquen as members of the reunion planning committee. Our reunion is going to be amazing in no small part thanks to their efforts.

Peace, Love, and Peanuts,
