It is hard to believe that we are coming up on our 55th reunion. We have shared so many wonderful reunions, and I so appreciate the memories of those. Your class officers are working to involve as many of you as possible in planning next year’s big event. Ethel Ware Gilbert Carter, our Reunion Chair, is putting together a committee to work on party planning, fund raising, communications, and spirit wear. Please contact Ethel Ware at ewcarter@day1.org if you would like to volunteer. I know that our Fund Chair, Kathy Ashe, would welcome your help in contacting classmates and reaching our fund raising goals. Kathy’s e-mail address is kathyashe@me.com.
The dates for the reunion are May 19-21. One interesting new feature of the weekend is the opportunity to stay in a residence hall on Friday and Saturday nights. Information about fees and all the details will be available later. The schedule has been changed a bit from previous years. Friday will feature back to class sessions, campus tours, receptions, the Anna Young Club dinner, a Hub sing, and a gathering on the science quad in the evening. Saturday’s activities include class meetings, the alumnae convocation, luncheon, meetings with college and alumnae leaders, an open house at the President’s home, and another opportunity for campus tours. Our class party will be Saturday night at the Cameron Terrace at the library. It is a beautiful spot for an evening gathering. On Sunday there will be a worship service. This weekend will not only be an opportunity to reconnect with our classmates but with the College as well.
I really hope that you will not only make plans to attend the reunion but to help plan it as well. As the reunion approaches, please remember to send your class news and photos to Betty Derrick (bderrick1968@att.net). If any of your contact information changes, please let the College know as soon as possible. We want you to be sure to receive all of the reunion news.
Thank you for being so supportive of our class and the College over the years. You are an amazing group!
