Class of 1967
Peter Pan

Dear Class of ’67,

Can you believe another 5 years have flown by? And the last year and a half have surely been the strangest time ever. Our reunion committee is working diligently (and having lots of fun) as we plan a wonderful weekend for our 55th. We are thrilled that we will celebrate in person, on campus! Please mark the dates on your calendar: June 3 – 5, 2022. As we lead up to that weekend, enjoying a couple of virtual gatherings, one in November and one in February, will give us the opportunity to see each other in the meantime. Watch your inbox for details.

You’ll soon be hearing from our fearless fund chairs, Susan Stevens Hitchcock and Clair McLeod Muller. They tell me that our class is doing well, but we can do better in this reunion year. Let’s all step up when we receive their end-of-year letter!

Justice Waldrop Allen is working hard on updating our Peter Pan website that she so beautifully created for our 50th. It will include reunion plans as they develop and other bits of interest over the next months. You’ll receive an email with particulars as soon as it’s ready for prime time, and you’ll want to look at it frequently to catch up on the latest.

Remember that Jane McCurdy Vardaman, our class secretary, is always eager to get news she can share, so watch for her emails and send her your news.

Things on campus are great! The college has coped beautifully with keeping everyone safe during a very challenging time. And of course, Agnes Scott continues to stand out nationally among its peers. It makes us proud to be Scotties!

Reunion weekend itself will follow the familiar format, with several exciting additions. Here are just a few highlights: After a chance on Friday afternoon for us to go “back to class,” there will be a “Meet the Faculty” reception, an opportunity to get to know some amazing faculty members.  Friday evening we’ll have a low-key dinner, most likely at a spot in Decatur, which (unlike in our college days) has some fabulous eateries.  No reunion would be complete without a Hub Sing, scheduled for Friday evening, though it will surely be bittersweet without our beloved Linda Marks. And for those who want to kick up their heels, there’s a reception and dance party for all alumnae.  A tour of Main (under renovation) will be one of several options for Saturday afternoon. On Saturday evening, our on-campus party will be on the Elizabeth Henderson Cameron Reading Terrace of the McCain Library, a delightful spot for celebrating on an early June evening. Soon you’ll be getting much more information about these and other details of the weekend.

All of us on the reunion committee hope you will make plans to come. We can’t wait to see you!
